Ecolog promotes National Vocational Qualification in the British Army

Released Date: 15/04/2006

On Wednesday 12th April 06, a prize award ceremony took place in Shaibah Log Base outside the HQ (UK) NSE/National Support Element.

17 military trainees, members of the British Forces in the status of privates, had successfully passed the National Vocational Qualification Level 2 "Food Preparation and Cooking" of their professional training as cooks and caterers in field conditions in the framework of Operation Telic 7 in Iraq.

The three best, Private Lewis, Private Gurung and Private St Jean, were awarded a high-quality Sony Play Station for their exceptional results. Private St Jean, who is not stationed directly in Shaibah Log Base, unfortunately was not able to participate in the award ceremony due to problematic safety conditions in Iraq.

Being a longtime contractor of the British forces in Iraq, Ecolog had sponsored the play stations.

This donation is meant to honour particularly the outstanding achievements of the three British privates in completing NVQ Level 2 whilst in theatre.

The enterprise is especially committed to the qualification of its own employees and supports vocational qualification measures for army members in all sectors. Catering belongs to the broad range of services of the company.
